I've been part of the Hippocards team as a mobile developer for the past two years, and it's been an incredible journey. Despite the initial expectations of it being a desk job, I've found that I'm genuinely well-suited for this profession.
When I first started, I was responsible for designing the user interface for our app, and I did it by hand. However, I quickly learned the significance of testing and creating designs that work seamlessly on any screen size. User-friendliness and memorability became key considerations in our design process. For example, I made sure our images weren't too large and used our brand colors for certain elements.
Over time, I became more involved in handling contracts and reports, which eventually led to my role as a Product Manager. I've also had the chance to contribute to our marketing efforts, particularly through the Influencer Marketing channel.
What makes our team special is our commitment to collaboration. We meet weekly to allocate tasks, share knowledge, and collectively find solutions. We function as peers, and I don't see myself as a traditional manager. Together, we prioritize urgent tasks and keep our fingers on the pulse of emerging technologies.
At Hippocards, our core focus is making language learning both enjoyable and effective. We recognize the vital role of consistent practice, and our users have achieved remarkable results. In the ever-evolving tech landscape in Mongolia, we're at the forefront of incorporating AI and VR technologies into our offerings. For instance, our app can translate your surroundings through the camera, and we're actively working on live lessons integrated within the app.
To boost our productivity, we've adopted techniques like Deepwork, which involves dedicated, uninterrupted work sessions. This method has proven highly effective for our team, allowing us to dive deep into complex challenges.
Having a background in IT, I understand the common pitfalls in the industry. One of these is not thoroughly testing applications with users before development. Drawing from my developer roots, I empathize with these challenges. Thankfully, we've implemented the Sprint methodology, which helps us catch around 80% of errors before diving into coding.
